Writing a guest post for ProBlogger was definitely a great opportunity for me to engage with a slightly different audience, however I must point out that the average level of engagement on my blog is quite a bit higher than you indicated in your post. While I may not be considered "big league" material I'm proud of the fact that there is a considerable amount of engagement there especially considering it's been less than a year since it launched. A bit of quick math indicates that the average number of comments on a post is actually closer to 17. Maybe this is splitting hairs, but engagement is very important to me -- more important than page rank or traffic or links. Although I havent had the opportunity to guest post as yet (I will be doing so at the end of the month hopefully), I did host 15 guest bloggers in January '09. The result of which was amazing, and my readership has trippled as a result of that 1 week of craziness. I'm all for it, and it does not happen enough!
